It’s nothing out of the usual for a dog to get the zoomies once in a while — but a hilarious Instagram video shows that Leo, an Italian Greyhound with endless energy, apparently runs by an important rule during his zoomies: take water breaks.

Instagram user @iggyleoo shared Leo’s video as he launches into full-speed zoomies while battling his favorite “blueberry ball.” The onscreen caption notes the matchup with, “Leo vs his blueberry ball.”

In the video, the dog’s zoomies include sprinting and pouncing around the room like he is trying to break a personal record. Leo chases the little blue ball across the floor, then doubles back to growl at it — and it’s equal parts dramatic and hilarious — because he appears to be a tiny athlete with a huge attitude.

The cozy setting looks like the kind of space where the owner would expect a calm night in. But Leo clearly did not get that memo.

Then, right in the middle of the action, Iggy stops — and no, he is not tired — he just needs a “quick water break,” as the onscreen text puts it. He trots over, takes a few sips, and immediately gets back to the mayhem. And then moments later, he spins again as if nothing happened.

Viewers loved the sudden water break, with one viewer remarking, “Hydration is important,” and another noting that Leo had a “cute growl.” And, of course, someone pointed out that the video was “Hilarious.”

Zoomies often show up when dogs feel happy, excited, nervous, or just need to burn off extra energy, with many dogs doing it after naps, after dinner, or when they get a burst of adrenaline.

Leo, though, just happened to have a brief water break mid-zoomies. So, in other words, the blueberry ball rivalry in the video is serious, but the dog still knows to stay hydrated before he goes back to his zoomies.
