If you think working from home is peaceful, you should try doing it with a pet. A hilarious Instagram video from @rusty.and.ollie shows a Golden Retriever named Rusty who treats the hallway like a racetrack. The dog sprints back and forth at full speed, gripping a toy in his mouth. He darts through the doorway, loops the hall, and charges right back again like he is running laps for a medal — and if the medal in question is his owner’s attention, he is certainly winning it.

An on-screen text on the video says, “I can do this all day.” And if you watch the video, it is exactly what the Golden Retriever means to do — run through the hallway all day. He never tires of the zoomies. Rusty grumbles while he runs, uses his whole body into every turn, and even smacks into the blinds — all of that without losing momentum.

The best part is that this wasn’t a case of “he needs exercise.” The owner added important context in the caption: “Btw this was after 2hrs of training that included sprinting in a field, commands, and an outing to Home Depot for neutrality work. There is no off button, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!”

The owner’s “no off button” remark checks out for a lot of field-bred Goldens. A field dog is usually from working lines, so they typically have more drive, more energy, more zoomies, and more need to stay busier than the calm type many of us picture when we think of a Golden Retriever. They use this drive to be in the spotlight and have their owners’ attention, just like this Golden Retriever in the video.

Viewers who live the same life showed up in the comments. One user joked, “The red ones are spicy,” another wrote, “I feel this. If you’re on a work call they’ll start with the squeaker,” and a third one joked about the endless energy with, “I came with a built in solar charger.”

In the video, the Golden Retriever may not respect office hours, but he might be the most chaotic coworker.
